Rules & Greens - Pace of Play

The expectation for a group of 5 to play 18 holes at Meadowlark Golf Course should not exceed 4 hours and 30 minutes. This equates to an average of 15 minutes per hole.

For all of us to meet this expectation for pace of play we need to play “ready golf”. You do not need to wait for your turn if you are not furthest away from the hole to play your shot. When ready hit it!

Waive up the groups behind on all par 3 holes and short par 4 holes. If there is a group waiting to hit behind you, your group needs to allow them to hit up before putting out.

This applies to holes 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, and 16.

Stay up with the group in front of you. If your group is not on the tee before the group in front is off of the green on each hole your group is out of position on the golf course. It does not matter how far you are in front of the group that is behind you. If your group does fall behind you must pick up the pace of play immediately to catch up.

Groups that fall behind will be asked to pick up the pace and catch up to the group in front. This should take no longer than one hole. If a group does not adhere to these expectations penalties could be invoked up to suspension of playing privileges.

It is every Meadowlark Men’s Club member’s responsibility to keep up the pace of play.
